Basically they dissolve the calcification that accumulates in the toilet bowl, if you have a LOT of calcification you are going to want something stronger, but for the light calcification and discolouration they work a charm.
Simply drop one in and let if fizz and sit on the bottom, it will just quietly go about its job.
