Reignite your Libido

Humans need each other, we crave intimacy, our brains are wired to release powerful stress releasing hormones. Lets be honest here though, when you are run down, under stress or just busy, it can be really hard to find your sexy.

Low libido is more common than you think, and not just in women, men too. There are so many factors that can be contributing to a low libido, never fear, there are also plenty of ways to get your sex drive back up and into action! 

Lets take a look at some of those.

  • You may have heard of the next one, it is not a herbal tea but it deserves to be here, Maca, it has been used for thousands of years in Peru as a food staple, lately it has been classed as a “superfood” and it is, as it is also called natures Viagra as it has aphrodisiac qualities and has the ability to improve libido and sexual performance. Being high in vitamin B it also help raise energy levels and helps the body to cope with stress, we add it to smoothies and any raw treat we make, including homemade chocolate.

EAT THE RAINBOW

Let’s face it, if you aren’t eating a rainbow then you won’t feel good, therefore your libido will be non-existent.

LACK OF THE RIGHT MINERALS=NO SEX FOR YOU!

  • B vitamins are found in dark leafy vegetables, wholegrain cereals, wheat germ, legumes, yoghurt, fish, chicken, eggs, bananas and potatoes.

  • Non haem iron is found in legumes, wholegrain breads and cereals, green leafy vegetables, broccoli, spirulina and dried fruit.

  • Haem iron is found in red meat, fish, chicken and eggs.

  • Vitamin E is found in avocado, raw nuts and seeds, flaxseed oil, wheat germ and olive oil.

  • Vitamin C is found in citrus fruits, kiwifruit, broccoli, capsicum and pomegranate.

  • Zinc is found in pumpkin, sunflower seeds, nuts, spinach, garlic and oysters. Did you know that when a man ejaculates he loses precious zinc, so eat those oysters up!

  • Magnesium is found in raw cacao, nuts, seeds, kelp, buckwheat and wheat bran.

Dark chocolate is an aphrodisiac, when you eat it, you actually get an increase of endorphins, the same chemicals your body releases when you are in love. Add a spoonful of cacao to smoothies or just gobble up some good quality dark chocolate, because a healthy heart means a healthy sex drive!

Here is our recipe for some guilt free, sexy chocolate.

  • 1/4 c chai seeds

  • 1/4 c sunflower seeds

  • 1/2 c coconut flakes or shredded

  • 1 tsp maca

  • 1/2 c crunchy peanut butter, or any other nut butter 

  • ½ cup liquid coconut oil

  • 2 TBSP honey, more or less to taste

  • ¾ cup – 1 cup cacao, depending on how dark you like it

  • 4 drops essential oil of choice, optional, I use green mandarin, wild orange or ginger…yummmo

  • 1 cup nuts, or fruit chopped or whole, optional

Mix it all together, either pop into moulds or one big block and slice up.
Place in fridge or freezer if you are impatient like me!
You can also take out the nuts and add fruit, play with it and make it your own

  • If you are overweight, chances are you aren’t feeling sexy, this can affect your desire for sex, so if this is you, make some healthy changes to your diet and do a bit more exercise. If you love the way you are, don’t change a thing!

  • If you aren’t exercising enough your blood flow and circulation will become stagnant, so get moving, boost those endorphins, improve your mood and get your sexy on.
